  • Q. Who owns the Salt Apparel Group?

    Incorporated in 2008, the Salt Apparel Group Pty Limited ACN 133 453 148, is an Australian privately owned company. The Salt Apparel Group is part of the SALT™ group family.

  • Q. What is the Company's core business?

    The Salt Apparel Group was established to design and manufacture swimwear and apparel including beach and technical apparel; sun preparation products and accessories.


    In 2009 the Group successfully acquired the wholesale lifestyle brands Starlet™, Zini™ and the iconic Cheetah™ womens’ swim and surfwear brand and plans to make them progressively available to markets locally and overseas.


    In mid 2010 the group entered the retail sales channel; acquiring streetwear retailer Code Orange with the view to expand the business to a small retail chain. Since then the Group has realised the synergies of further developing its retail arm, establishing the Salt Apparel Group Outlet store adjoining the group’s design and warehouse space in Wollongong NSW. A second Salt Apparel Group Outlet store is marked to open in Airlie Beach QLD in September 2011.

  • Q. Where is the headquarters of the Salt Apparel Group?

    The Salt Apparel Group headquarters are located in the Wollongong CBD. The offices are shared with the SALT™ group family of business’ and adjoins the Salt Apparel Group Outlet store.

  • Q. Do you have any further acquisition plans?

    The Salt Apparel Group strategic direction is managed in consultation with Salt Corporate Pty Limited. Known for their rigorous approach to business management, strategic focus on continued growth and restless thinking; the Salt Corporate Management Team’s vision is to facilitate a portfolio of revenue building business’ that articulate a reciprocal lifestyle flavour. 


    Their growth strategy for the Salt Apparel Group is to focus on building wholesale relationships with swimwear, beach and street boutique and chain stores throughout Australia in the medium term, having just entered the retail arena through the acquisition of Code Orange and realising organic growth through the creation of the Salt Apparel Group Outlet. 


    Salt Corporate is not currently looking for additional bolt-on brand acquisitions. Our plans for growth are organic opportunities.

  • Q. Does the Salt Apparel Group have a policy about Vendor Relationships

    Yes. We require our Suppliers to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. The Salt Apparel Group Vendor Policy can be downloaded from the Our Values page on this website. This policy is designed to ensure that our Vendors and any Supplier partners operate ethically and that our products are produced under appropriate conditions in Australia and throughout the world.

  • Q. Does the Salt Apparel Group have a policy about the Environment?

    Yes. The Salt Apparel Group is committed to sustainable Environmental manufacture and business operations. As a minimum level we comply with Australian laws and regulations relating to Environmental impact and we have established our own additional Environmental targets which include the voluntary creation of an Environmental Management System.

    The Salt Apparel Group philanthropic approach is focused on supporting and promoting organisations dedicated to reversing the devastating destruction of ocean Environments and their delicate ecosystems.
